Visit Thailand: Thai Cuisine, Culture & Shopping

There is absolutely no other place in the world quite like Thailand. From food and culture to infrastructure and natural wonders, this country offers a unique blend of characteristics that can’t be found anywhere else. Having being influenced by Indian, Chinese and Cambodian traditions guarantees that Thailand is brimming with that exotic mystery that is so appealing to westerners. This is a very spiritual land where Buddhism and Hinduism are practiced in their purest forms. However, the fact that religion is such a major part of this culture does not mean that some worldly luxuries are not afforded. On the contrary, Thai food is widely known for the delight with which it regales the sense of taste. Thai cuisine manages to harmoniously combine the five basic tastes senses (spicy, sweet, sour, salty and bitter) and that is no small feat.

In stark contrast with what we just mentioned above, Thailand is also very advanced in terms of technology and architecture. The National Science and Technology Development Agency is in charge of promoting technological progress, and it does so with the help of many associated institutions, such as the National Nanotechnology Center, the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center and the Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology, amongst others. As for infrastructure, suffice it to say that the capital, Bangkok, presents a skyline filled with towering skyscrapers, and the city is filled with shopping malls, parks and movie theaters. Undoubtedly, the combination of modernity and tradition is one of the factors that make Thailand one of a kind.
